Brooks Wright was born in New York and moved to Kansas City the summer of his ninth birthday. He began playing drums professionally in bars and nightclubs when he was fourteen. After a lengthy career as a musician, at times performing with some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians, he went back to school and earned a Bachelors degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Salem State College, graduating summa cum laude. Though he had written before, he began a more serious writing career while earning his degree. He has honed his craft, attending numerous workshops, conferences, and graduate courses, while completing several novels, plays, and numerous short stories. His novel, Now I Say Goodbye To You, was chosen one of the best Indie Fiction books of 2019 by Kirkus Reviews.
